Adorable, Brilliant Winners of 2014 Black History Essay & Poster Contest

Five New York City public school children were the winners of this year’s Black History Essay & Poster contest, sponspoed by Con Edison and The Town Hall. They were chosen from more than 3,800 kids from grades 3 through 8 who atended The Town Hall’s annual Black History month concert, featuring The Jef Haynes Percussion Ensemble. Students were able to submit an art poster or essay inspired by the concert.
The winners were: Essay – Justin Colon (grade 3) PS 4M, Manhattan; and Daniel Rincon (grade 4) PS 46, Brooklyn. Art Poster – Oliver Terrell (grade 5) PS/MS 31, Bronx; Analisse Albino (grade 4) PS 46, Brooklyn, and Geiline Pichardo (grade 5) PS 25K, Brooklyn.
Each winner received an award and prizes.
