JML TV – Design your own lighters

(UPDATE: Costs below) Put your artwork, band, face or brand on a million lighters for under a dollar. JML TV is a series of DIY videos for artists by artists. I show you the trick of lighter trading so you always have a blank one to canvass on. I show you how to make them look like a store bought product and how to make 50 at a time in under 5 minutes! I have been “lighter trading” for 17 years. This is a fun trick ALL ARTISTS SHOULD KNOW AND UTILIZE TO GET YOUR WEB SITE AND ARTWORK OUT THERE! Bands love this one too… ENJOY! (Music and videography by Joshua M Lutz of Queens New York City. www.jmldesigns.net)

Specifics and costs: Lighter dimensions are shown in the cutting portion of this video into perfect squares. Any paper will work. Get the cheapest white paper from staples or wherever. Don’t over complicate this guys 🙂 I used a Xerox Phaser 7500 but any laserjet will work great, avoid inkjet if possible but not necessary but remember; inket prints far less pages for your dollar. You can even hand draw your own one by one if you want to go super DIY. Here were my exact costs: reem of paper on eBay: . Bulk lighters were 50 for . Tape and scissors I found in a basement. Printing costs are hard to say with maintenance, fuser rollers, toner waste carts etc. Who cares. Have fun! – JML
